About Tara-Lynn

Tara-Lynn joined Normanton Chambers in August 2021 following completion of her pupillage. Her  areas of practice are:

  • Clinical Negligence
  • Costs
  • Personal Injury
  • Employment
  • Regulatory Law

Tara-Lynn is known for her advocacy and her meticulous approach, and has been praised for her in-depth knowledge of civil procedure.

Prior to pupillage, Tara-Lynn worked as an intern for a leading personal injury QC and then as a paralegal for a leading personal injury and costs QC.  This gave her high-end experience of costs, clinical negligence and personal injury.

Before being called to the Bar, Tara-Lynn had a career in healthcare management and medical education.  She worked in standard setting and policy implementation for the NHS, UK medical schools and international medical schools.  As a result, Tara-Lynn has unique insight into the inner-workings of the NHS, including the political environment, the demands on services and operating culture.

During her latter years in healthcare management, Tara-Lynn became a manager and human resource consultant.  She gained extensive knowledge in human resources alongside practical experience in change management, redundancy, disciplinary proceedings and grievance matters.  These experiences have helped Tara-Lynn develop a solid employment law practice.

Tara-Lynn has a special interest in equity in the workplace.  She worked for the Judicial Appointments Commission to ensure fairness and compliance with the Equality Act 2010 in the Ministry of Justice’s selection processes, recruitment and interviews.  She also mentors vulnerable young people supporting them back into education and training.
