About Jane
Before joining Normanton Chambers Jane enjoyed a career working as in-house counsel in multinational organisations, including as a Legal Manager at The Bank of England, covering a broad range of legal issues in financial markets. She has extensive experience in the following areas:

• Margin Requirements for Non Cleared Derivatives

• Novation Agreements

Jane’s work has focussed on managing legal and credit risk using appropriate documentation, contractual arrangements and detailed due diligence for a range of legal entities. She has experience of preparing regulatory compliant documentation and of participating in a Skilled Persons Review (Section 166 of the Financial Services and Markets Act 2000) for a major investment bank. She is keen to bring her wealth of knowledge to her private practice.
In addition to her specialist expertise in the financial markets, in order to develop her variety of work at the independent Bar, Jane works for the Personal Support Unit supporting Litigants in Person in family and money claims. She is interested in developing these areas of work and is happy to discuss any matter pre-instruction, commensurate with her level of experience.
Jane is based on the Wirral and is willing to travel to develop her practice in her specialist areas. She holds an LLM in International Law and a Dual Practising Certificate from the Bar Council. She is also soon to become a qualified mediator.
Interests:
When she is not working or pursuing her interest in public health (Trust Member of and Ambassador for The Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust as well as being a Dementia Friend) Jane enjoys literature, yoga, walking and cinema. She is a Proprietor of the Athenaeum in Liverpool.
