About Ibar

Ibar has worked internationally in Ireland, the UK and the Caribbean and is currently instructed by Pogust Goodhead on a long term basis working on the Mariana v BHP case, one of the biggest legal claims ever filed in the Courts of England and Wales following the collapse of the Mariana dam, the worst environmental disaster in Brazil’s history affecting more than 700,000 people.

He has significant experience in the following areas:

Previous cases of note in which Ibar has been instructed include the FII GLO and CFC and dividend GLO proceedings, which were before the Supreme Court, as well as AHAB v SAAD in the Cayman Islands, the longest trial ever to come before the Cayman courts and possibly the largest fraud ever litigated.

Ibar was called to the Bar of Ireland in 2011 and the Bar of England and Wales in 2015. He obtained a Barrister-at-Law Degree from the Honourable Society of King’s Inns in Dublin and a Bachelor of Civil Law Degree from University College Dublin, where he was awarded the prestigious Gold Medal for placing 1st out of a class of 120 + students.
